Our Recent Accomplishments

Fantasy Garden The Rotary Club of Albuquerque
Children's Fantasy Garden at the Albuquerque Biological Park,

A Garden of Discovery!

The Children's Fantasy Garden at the Albuquerque Biological Park is the world's most imaginative acre. It is a magical place of astonishing light, color and exuberance; but beyond that, a living picture book of how Mother Nature energizes and reinvests her world and ours, through time. These are things children want to know - things they will discover each time they venture into the Fantasy Garden. The Rotary Club of Albuquerque donated $150,000 to help create this fascinating "classroom" for the children of New Mexico. The quality of life in our city improves dramatically every year thanks to such imaginative projects as the Children's Fantasy Garden.

Working Classroom, Inc.

An Award Winning Program for At-Risk Children

In 1999 an 2000, The Rotary Club of Albuquerque donated a large share of the proceeds form our major fund raiser to Working Classroom, Inc. This award-winning program is dedicated to promoting the self-esteem, leadership, artistic and academic potential of at-risk youth. Working Classroom is a multi-ethnic organization of professional and novice adult and student artists, actors and writers. It offers programs that foster the creative, academic and leadership potential of talented at-risk youth and create art for and about our diverse communities. As citizens of a larger global community, Working Classrooms encourages its members to read, write and speak English and Spanish and to use their talents to build a better world -- collaborating to promote peace, tolerance and human rights at home and abroad.
Children's Hospital of New Mexico

Children's Hospital of New Mexico

Family Centered Care

In 2000, The Rotary Club of Albuquerque added the Children's Hospital of New Mexico as a major beneficiary of the proceeds form our major fund raiser. The Children's Hospital, located within University Hospital, provides the most advanced neonatology and pediatric care available in New Mexico. Their care ranges from Ambulatory care outpatient clinics to inpatient units providing the highest level of intensive care hospitalization. Each year Children's Hospital of New Mexico cares for nearly 40,000 children, more than 50 percent of whom live outside of the Albuquerque area.
