ETHICS
In May 2006, the Rotary Club of Albuquerque inaugurated its Ethics Program. Its purpose is to make each Rotarian aware of the highest ethical practices and behaviors consistent with Rotary International’s rich tradition of ethical standards as embodied in the Four Way Test, the Object of Rotary, the Rotary Declaration and “Service Above Self.” We define “ethics” for our project’s purposes as: 1. values governing a particular group. 2. Rules of conduct followed by an individual. These are the rules of conduct recognized with respect to a particular group, e.g., medical ethics.
In order to discuss behaviors and their consequences, a vocabulary is essential. Our vocabulary is referred to as the Six Traits of Ethical Behavior.
Each one of the Traits is featured for several weeks during the year. The current Ethical Trait is reflected below.

Webster’s definition: A state of mind created and reinforced by particular behaviors.
Here’s what R E S P E C T means to the members of the Rotary Club of Albuquerque.
As Rotarians, we treat everyone with courtesy, politeness and dignity; we honor individual differences. We appreciate the economic, social and cultural differences of our fellow club members and everyone within our circle of daily activity.”
